Vision:
- Traditional Education, Training, Professional Development and Job-Support represent an Art of sophisticated goal-oriented control over an ill-defined, ill-observable and ill-controllable object, a learning process.
- In one-on-one tutoring, the human tutors perform this Art and really help the learners to learn. All other traditional methods are not so helpful, but much more affordable
- In e-Learning world, where this Art is supported with technology, most of known solutions are just electronic delivery of the same one-size-fits-all content for all learners. No much control. What would be really effective, Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) simulating exper tutors, are not yet available for learners
- Converting this Art into Science and Technology is extremely important for all the people on the globe and represents a challenge for scientists and practitioners
- In technology, the common Bottom-Up (ad-hoc, practical) approach in such a complex system design results in very specific, biased and not compatible solutions
- In science, the Top-Down (systematic, theoretical) approach supports generating generic, objective and widely compatible solutions
- Combination of both, Bottom-Up and Top-Down approaches, seems to be reasonable for explicit modeling of such complex ill-formalized systems, but is very time and labor consuming in practice
- Getting popular Agile approach replaces the labor consuming developing of the explicit models with rapid step-by-step approximation of expert tacit knowledge
- Getting popular socilal netwoks facilitate collaborative accumulating and shaping available tacit knowledge and wisdom of crowd
- For the learners the social networks open new horizons for informal learning. Accumulation of learners' feedback and use of machine learning techniques allow rating and improving instructional activities and resources
- The most cost-effective solutions to expect in e-learning, education, traning, professional development and job-support are on the way of wise intergration of all above-mentioned approaches.
